December Holiday Reviews 2012 – One A Day – #12

To get everyone into the mood for celebrating winter, the final month of the year, or any of the many religious and non-religious festivals that will occur this month, we’re showcasing reviews for a range of holiday-themed books here. One a day, and since the books on the web site are all from this year, we’re giving books from previous years some extra attention here on the blog. I hope you’ll join us in having a look at the “Golden Oldies”!

This is a “romantic, sweet, and very sexy story”, reviewed by Serena, who thinks the somewhat unusual setting of a ranch in Australia makes this an even more fun book. You can also find the full review on the Rainbow Book Reviews site by clicking here.

Lucas has been in love with his dad’s best friend, Mitchell, for years. Arriving home after finishing university, he’s determined to find out if the sexy cowboy returns his feelings. When Mitchell receives his Christmas present early, will he continue to fight his attraction?

Book Review

This is a romantic, sweet, and very sexy story about a younger man who has been in love with his father’s best friend for nine years. Now that he’s finished with university, he is no longer willing to take no for an answer and goes to get his man. They both have help from the most unexpected person of all and, boy, do the sparks fly!

Lucas is young but determined – and while he has so far admired Mitchell from afar, he is now grown up enough to want more. I like his determination, his numerous attempts to seduce Mitchell, and the depth of his feelings. When the other ranch hands encourage rather than stop him, he knows he has to keep trying.

Mitchell is his own worst enemy. His attempts to stay away from the man he has loved for five years were successful so far, but with Lucas now working on his ranch permanently, running away is not really an option any longer. I liked how he still fights his attraction, because he thinks it is wrong to love his best friend’s son. At the same time, staying away is almost killing him.

If you like hot and sexy stories, reading about men working on a ranch in Australia (with all the cowboy-ness that entails) and enjoy the main characters having to overcome some (minor) obstacles before they can admit they love each other, you will probably like this story as much as I did.
